- Physically fit and healthy

- Working cellphone.
Key Tasks
- Escort/accompany patients from wards to various sections.
- Render assistance to nursing staff and therapists with transfer of patients to beds/wheelchairs.
- Moving of patients in between clinics and specialized services on wheelchairs/beds
- Ensure the gym is clean, linen is changed regularly and surfaces disinfected as per practice’s standard operating procedure
- Perform other duties allocated, specific to the unit’s needs

Department: Auckland Park – CVA Unit

Minimum Requirement
- Degree in any of the therapy professions (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy)
- Up to date HPCSA and Malpractice registration. Active registration with relevant professional society.
- Completed all three rotations in Spinal, Ortho and Neuro
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working for RHP
- Exposure to management responsibilities is advantageous
Job Summary
To manage the planning and provision of a high quality, effective and efficient rehabilitation programme within current resources to serve the needs of patients admitted to the CVA Unit for rehabilitation.
Key Tasks
- Assessment, development and maintenance of appropriate and intensive therapy programs
- Co-ordination of the rehabilitation therapy service in the designated unit
- Co-ordination of patient and family educational programs
- Staff management, motivation and development
- Maintain staff levels according to unit needs
- Development of Standards, Procedures and protocols for the designated unit
- Liaison with the hospital staff to develop improved service delivery
- Assist in co-ordination of the Continuing Education program of the practice
- Assist in developing and marketing the rehabilitation services
